The Building - Coming Full Circle

In 1969, the population growth of the east bench and the suburbs south of Salt Lake City was booming.  The need for a 3rd high school in the South Valley was necessary.  Securing a piece of land on a sloping sandpit, the revolutionary design was built.
Sitting atop a hill with spectacular views of the mountains on one side and the valley all around, the school has been a landmark in Cottonwood Heights since it was built.  There is no other school like it, and the student body embraced their unique identity and began to set themselves apart from the beginning.
Academics, clubs and organizations, athletics, Brighton students excelled in all of their endeavors. Our history is relatively short, but it is rich and full.   We will continue to add to this page as we gather more data and stories. Click below for more history.
