|BRIGHTON HIGH 50TH ANNIVERSARY||
In 1969, the population growth of the east bench and the suburbs south of Salt Lake City was booming. The need for a 3rd high school in the South Valley was necessary. Securing a piece of land on a sloping sandpit, the revolutionary design was built.
Sitting atop a hill with spectacular views of the mountains on one side and the valley all around, the school has been a landmark in Cottonwood Heights since it was built. There is no other school like it, and the student body embraced their unique identity and began to set themselves apart from the beginning. Academics, clubs and organizations, athletics, Brighton students excelled in all of their endeavors.
The timeline will show all of Brighton's accomplishments over the last 50 years, and it is impressive.
